2017 - Present

How can we use healthier materials and construction practices now and for the future? We constantly consider this question, and search for solutions.

After learning more and more about the harmful health effects of conventional paints—and thinking about how most people in the US are exposed to them on a daily basis—Jonsara spent a year following Lime around the world, diving deep into the use of this ancient building material across a variety of regions, cultures and climates. She photographed every example that she saw, building the foundations of a “lime archive,” to better record the many traditions and broad knowledge of this material, which has been threatened by the introduction and growing prevalence of petrochemical-based paint products.
